Cinco de Mayo at LA Plaza!
Thursday, May 5 2011 4:00PM - 7:00PM
On Thursday, May 5, from 4pm to 7pm, LA Plaza will ring in its first Cinco de Mayo with music, crafts, and free admission to exhibitions LA Starts Here! and Calle Principal. While mariachi roam LA Plaza’s campus, KPFK DJ Betto Arcos (“Global Village”) will spin a variety of French and Mexican tunes, including music dating back to the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Local trios Cambalache and Trio Loteria will also perform beautiful son jarocho and boleros. In the garden, local artist collective LAartlab will lead all-ages Cinco de Mayo-themed art workshops, while the Border Grill truck serves up delectible modern Mexican fare (for purchase).
Event is free, nonticketed, and open to the public. We hope you can join us!
