Good news! In late September, we completed construction on our indoor facilities. Now we only have a few finishing touches left on the renovation of the beautiful and historic Vickrey-Brunswig Building (c. 1888) and Plaza House (c. 1883) before we begin filling them with exhibits.

Around the same time, on September 28, we broke ground on El Jardín, the beautiful outdoor facilities surrounding our building. Exciting!

At 30,000 square feet, El Jardín will include an outdoor performance stage; La Huerta, an edible learning garden; a Vertical Learning Wall, featuring flora from the six native ecosystems of Southern California; Campo Santo, an olive grove and memorial to the site's first inhabitants; La Cocina Campestre, an outdoor kitchen; and outdoor classroom areas.

If you can believe it, in only a few short months this place will be transformed. Stay tuned!
