Entertainment by Las Palmas Grupo Folklorico, Mexico Aztec Grupo Folklorico and Ballet Folklorico Xochipil. Enjoy arts, culinary, and garden demonstrations and workshops. Participate in the Letters Project, collecting letters written by and to Latinos while serving in the Vietnam War. Food and drinks available for sale. Workshops/Demonstrations: 

Art – Comic Book Sequence 
BOOM! POW! ACTION! Art and literacy are interconnected, one place they interconnect is through comic books! Learn about the history of comic books and follow along as we invite you to use your imagination to create a comic strip sequence that tells a story.  

Culinary Arts– Strawberry Citrus Refreshment 
¡Fresas y naranjas! Learn how to prepare a refreshment using ingredients that do not include processed sugars or high fructose syrup. Learn how to compare natural sugars and processed sugars in the foods we consume.  

Edible Teaching Garden– Garden Exploration 
Let’s take a walk! Have you ever noticed the gardens around your community? Join us in conversation as we learn how to conduct a garden exploration! Learn how to document plants, animals, and key garden features. 

Collection Activity: Community members are invited to participate in the Letters Project, a new collection effort funded by the US Latino Digital Humanities Program supported by the Mellon Foundation. This project collects letters written by and to Latinos while serving in the Vietnam War, saving the record by creating digital copies of letters to preserve them for generations to come.
