Singing in Spanglish with Espanglish

Espanglish is a band from Mexico City, its sound a mixture of traditional, tropical and electronic music. Their style can be defined as a powerful “mezcla” of Latin American roots combined with 20th Century Black music. With lyrics in both Spanish and English, they attempt to erase the boundaries between musical genres and carry around the world a message of unity, love, tolerance and female empowerment. Join Lis (vocals, ukulele and keyboards) and Alfredo (ukulele, guitar and programming) as they preserve tradition by transforming it.

Funding has been provided by California Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
