- Gallery Volunteers
Flexible Hours (Weds-Monday), Preferred availability (12-3pm weekdays, 1-4pm weekends)
Gallery Volunteers serve as stewards of LA Plaza’s mission within exhibitions and create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all backgrounds. Gallery Volunteers provide in-gallery support by conversing with visitors about museum content and related history; answering visitor questions about permanent and temporary exhibitions; helping visitors navigate the museum; monitoring galleries for safety; administering surveys; and providing additional information about LA Plaza’s programming, mission, and history as needed.

Family Day Volunteers
Select Sundays, 11am-4pm
Family Days at LA Plaza include multi-generational hands-on workshops that offer an engaging pathway to cultural self-discovery and the appreciation of personal, familial, and community heritage. Volunteers in this area work closely with staff to facilitate art, garden, and culinary art workshops for children and families.
Family Day Volunteer Qualifications
Prospective volunteers must be:
- o At least fifteen years of age
- o Passionate about working with people of all ages
- o Interest in Mexican, Mexican American, and Los Angeles History
