LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes acknowledges the complexity of this moment our community is facing. We recognize that the recent allegations surrounding César Chávez may be painful and unsettling, particularly for those who have long looked to his legacy as a source of inspiration.
We honor the enduring leadership and contributions of Dolores Huerta, whose lifelong commitment to justice, equity, and community continues to guide and inspire. We stand with her, with survivors, and with all those in our community who have been impacted, and we affirm the importance of listening, reflection, and accountability. In light of this moment, we have made the decision not to move forward with our upcoming César Chávez Family Day event.
LA Plaza remains committed to creating space for thoughtful dialogue, learning, and healing. We encourage our community to engage with compassion, care, and respect as we move through this moment together.
