LOS ANGELES (January 20, 2026) –– For more than five weeks this summer, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes—Los Angeles’ cultural hub celebrating Latino culture—will serve as the official hospitality suite of the Government of Mexico in Los Angeles during the 2026 World Cup. Casa México Los Angeles 2026 will offer Angelenos a vibrant, free public program featuring live match viewing parties, music, gastronomy, exhibitions, and more.

The announcement was made by Carlos González Gutiérrez, Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles; Leticia Rhi Buckley, CEO of LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes; and Mayor Karen Bass.

Expected to welcome more than 20,000 visitors, Casa México’s main attraction will be live viewing parties for the three confirmed matches of the Mexican National Team: against South Africa on June 11, South Korea on June 18, and a third match on June 24 against an opponent yet to be determined. Additional viewing parties, particularly featuring teams from Latin American countries, will also take place throughout the program. Plus, family-friendly and community-centered events like salsa nights, film screenings, and a community festival with more to be announced.

“We are honored to showcase Mexico’s cultural richness, creativity, and hospitality at the heart of Los Angeles,” said Carlos González Gutiérrez, Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles. “Casa México Los Angeles will be a home for everyone, a space to celebrate our shared history, strengthen our friendship, and highlight the contributions of Mexicans and Mexican Americans to this great city.”

Designed as a safe, family-friendly, and welcoming environment for all ages, Casa México Los Angeles 2026, taking place from June 11 to July 19, will offer free admission to all programming and take place in a central, highly accessible location. LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, located just steps from Union Station in the heart of the El Pueblo neighborhood of downtown L.A., will serve as a gathering space not only for Latino communities but also for all Angelenos and visitors seeking to experience the spirit of the World Cup through culture and community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Casa México Los Angeles 2026 to LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes at a moment when our community needs spaces of joy, belonging, and cultural pride more than ever,” said Leticia Rhi Buckley, CEO of LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes. “Soccer is a universal language that brings people together across borders and generations, and this partnership reflects that spirit. LA Plaza stands at the heart of our city’s cultural story, making it a fitting place for a moment that unites us in both heritage and hope.”

The announcement comes as Los Angeles prepares to welcome the world for two major global events—the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games—reaffirming the city’s deep cultural, historical, and social ties with Mexico.

“This celebration will allow Angelenos and visitors from around the world a unique opportunity to experience Mexico’s rich culture, hospitality, and athletic excellence during one of the world’s most significant sporting events,” said Mayor Karen Bass.

The full Casa México Los Angeles program and schedule of viewing parties will be announced on the LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes website, as well as through LA Plaza’s and the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles’ social media channels.

Telemundo 52 / KVEA is the official media partner for Casa México Los Angeles. Telemundo is the exclusive Spanish-language home of the FIFA World Cup 26™, kicking off June 11, 2026.
