Docs @ LA Plaza – Raicilla: Memoria de un Paisaje | Free with RSVP

Dive into the history, traditional production methods, and environmental challenges surrounding raicilla, an ancestral agave spirit from Jalisco, through the documentary Raicilla: Memoria de un Paisaje (2026) (Raichilla: Memory of a Landsape). After the screening, stay for a Q&A with director Pedro Jiménez, followed by a guided raicilla tasting.

Presented in Spanish with English subtitles, the documentary explores the cultural legacy of raicilla through the voices of traditional producers (taberneros), academics, and advocates. Featuring breathtaking footage of Jalisco’s diverse landscapes—from its Pacific coast to its mountain communities—the film reveals how the region’s geography and traditions have shaped this distinctive spirit.
