Learning from Lockdown with Holly Lynn Purser, Apple Valley High School, Anthony Islas, South East High School, & Denise Sandoval PhD, California State University, Northridge

The closing of schools across the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge for students, families and educators. While many households struggled to manage the additional supervision, internet access, and electronic devices needed to learn at home, educators, many with little experience teaching remotely, have struggled, too.

Join us as three educators discuss how the lockdown tested their teaching skills, made them adjust their expectations, and compelled them to develop ideas that could outlast the pandemic.

Panelists:
Anthony Islas, Art Teacher, South East High School
Holly Lynn Purser, Spanish Teacher, Apple Valley High School
Denise M. Sandoval, Ph.D, Professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies, California State University, Northridge
