24th Annual Encuentro de Jaraneros de California | Free with RSVP

More than 30 music and dance ensembles from communities across California, along with guest artists from Veracruz, Mexico, will come together for a day of live performances, traditional zapateado dancing, educational presentations, artisan vendors, and regional food. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the rich history and ongoing evolution of Son Jarocho, one of Mexico’s most vibrant musical traditions.

This free, family-friendly event celebrates the enduring cultural ties between California and Veracruz while highlighting the vital role community organizations play in preserving and sharing traditional Mexican arts. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering Son Jarocho for the first time, the festival offers a welcoming space to experience its music, dance, and cultural traditions.

Since 2002, Encuentro de Jaraneros de California, Inc. has presented an annual festival featuring some of the finest Son Jarocho musicians, dancers, and cultural practitioners from throughout California and Veracruz. Over the past two decades, the Encuentro has grown into one of the largest and longest-running celebrations of Son Jarocho outside of Mexico, bringing together artists, educators, students, families, and community members dedicated to preserving and advancing this living tradition.
