WORKSHOPS

The dead come back to celebrate! Each workshop explores the history and traditions of Día de los Muertos through fun, hands-on activities. Children who participate can collect stamps along the way, and once they complete the series, they can turn in their guide to receive a special giveaway.

Calavera Colorida: Mask-Painting / Taller de pintura de máscaras

Learn about the art of papier-mâché in Mexico and paint your own colorful mascara to wear or adorn your altar.

¡A Florecer!: Flower Accessories / Taller de accesorios florales

Make a flower crown or boutonniere to wear. This workshop is facilitated by Ni Santas, a women of color art collective.

Manojitos del Recuerdo: Herb Bundles / Taller de ramos aromáticos

Learn how plants, scent, and memory can play a meaningful role in honoring and remembering loved ones. This workshop is facilitated by Marlene Aguilar, Urban Gardener and cocinera.
