What happens when you put on a mask and let your body do the talking? Through movement, improvisation, and play, The Actor Behind the Mask explores how physical choices can transform character and tell stories beyond words. Participants will work with theatrical masks to discover new possibilities for presence, expression, and courageous play. Led by Estela Garcia.
ABOUT ESTELA GARCIA
Estela Garcia is a Los Angeles–based movement artist, director, performer, and teaching artist who loves bringing people together through movement, play, and physical storytelling. Recent credits include Movement Director for Pericles at Boston Court Pasadena and Puppetry Director for Quixote Nuevo at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Estela teaches movement at CalArts and has spent over a decade creating and teaching alongside Los Angeles communities through Center Theatre Group.
